First off, let me just say that if you are in a committed relationship, you should at least have the respect to tell the person to their face that you are no longer interested in them. You shouldn't text, e-mail, instant message, none of that crap. I am personally a big fan of breaking up in person. At least then you gave the person enough respect to tell them to their face, and if there are any questions to be asked, they can ask them.

The only way I could ever see breaking up over the phone/text/email/networking site of your choosing, is if you are in a long distance relationship and you don't get to see the person face to face. But still, I believe the best option for doing that is by simply calling them and giving them the news.

Social networking sites are getting ridiculous and ruling our lives. Remember when Myspace was a big deal? And all your friends were getting pissed off that they weren't in your "top whatever?" So you just kept adding them there until you were showing your top 64 friends just to stop drama? Yeah, crap like that. Facebook is no different. Random people friend you and you don't wanna decline for fear of drama. Someone posts something on someones wall that you don't like. Maybe there is "harmless" flirting going on, but you don't see it that way. Seriously? It's like trying to read sarcasm through a text message. You never get the full feel of it.

Now, as far as breaking up on facebook? I'm assuming we're talking about the whole fad where you just change your status back to single. That has to be the dumbest thing ever. People make too much of a deal about social networking sites as if they're the end all, be all of the internet! Like if you don't have "you are in a relationship with so and so" it's not "Facebook official (god i hate that term). It's ridiculous! If you're going to break up with someone at least give them to courtesy of a face to face break up. Unless you wanna be a total asshole and then just switch your status to single and block them. Cuz apparently all the cool kids are doing it!
