And I Would Walk 500 miles...

"What are your thoughts on long distance relationships?" - Anon

In the past, I've always favored long distance relationships simply because I was afraid of the physical aspect of a relationship, yet I enjoyed the conversation and such of having someone a distance aways from me. When you don't get to see each other on a regular basis you can always find things to talk about it seems simply because talking is pretty much the most intimate activity you can do together. It's nice getting emails, letters, packages, phone calls and such from your significant other. Those little things that are taken for granted in todays world.

As I've gotten older, I've found that long distance relationships can be hard to keep together. I currently live 30-345 minutes away from my boyfriend, and although that may not seem very far, it's tricky arranging transportation and stuff to see him. It sucks, but we never, ever run out of things to talk about. No matter how long we spend talking to each other. Even if it's cute joking back and forth.

I don't prefer long distance relationships, but if I find that the person I am in love with lives a decent distance away, than so be it. I love who I love and there's no changing it. I honestly think it depends on the people involved as to whether a long distance relationship will work or not.
